Vanquished

The galaxy is ruled by the Nebula, a royal family who has ruled the galaxy ever since it was formed. This family controls each planet of the galaxy through chief syndicators, rulers that command and run each planet while obeying the rules and orders put out by the royal family. 

One day however, the current Emperor and Empress are tragically killed by some mysterious dark force. This enrages the son of the Emperor and Empress, so much that he can’t control his anger around others. 

He soon loses his hope in humanity, as he steps up to take the throne, the Darkness around him seeps into his mind. He changes the name of his rule to the Dark Nebula, and begins to use the newly found dark power within him to manipulate everyone in his path. The chief syndicators are now hired by the new Emperor in order to control the planets through the power of the darkness. These syndicators in exchange for the power to rule the planets, they take any resources they can find. 

A new party arises in order to defend the darkness taking over the galaxy, the Illumineers. You as the player must fend off the dark source using the power of the Light, and work with your fellow Illumuineers in order to defeat the Darkness controlled by the Dark Emperor.
